Stephan Graf

Stephan Graf investigates the relations between industry and science in the 20th century focusing on photography R&D in industry and academia. After completing his undergraduate studies in psychology, cultural anthropology and sociology at University of Basel and University of Paris 8 Vincennes-Saint-Denis in 2014, he continued his graduate studies at ETH where he received a master's degree in History and Philosophy of Knowledge in 2018. Parallel to his studies, he worked at the photo archive of the external page Swiss Society for Folk Studies and the external page Fotosammlung Ruth and Peter Herzog in the Jacques Herzog and Pierre de Meuron Kabinett in Basel. After coordinating an exhibition at the external page Centre de la photographie Genève in 2019, he is now pursuing his SNSF-funded external page dissertation project at the Chair for Science Studies at ETH Zürich. Between August 2021 and January 2022, Stephan Graf was a Visiting Scholar at the Photographic History Research Centre at De Montfort University in Leicester.
